About the Course
Oral Communication for Internationals (OCI) is a comprehensive 12-week course designed to enhance English language communication skills for international graduate students preparing to become Graduate Teaching Assistants and Associates at the University of Central Florida. Offered in both the fall and spring semesters, OCI is facilitated by experienced faculty from UCF Global. The course focuses on practical strategies and techniques to improve oral proficiency, presentation skills, and classroom communication.
Participants will engage in various activities that include:
- Developing clear and effective teaching methods tailored to diverse student populations.
- Enhancing interactive and participatory teaching techniques to foster student engagement.
- Practicing effective classroom management and discussion facilitation skills.
- Utilizing technology and multimedia tools to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
- Receiving constructive feedback through peer reviews and instructor evaluations.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this 12-week course, international graduate students will be able to:
1. Oral Proficiency and Communication:
